MCA (Master of Computer Applications) is a three-year Professional Masters Degree in Computer Applications.  The program is inclined towards application development and thus has more emphasis on latest programming languages. The program aims at the understanding of fundamentals of computing by the students so that they can compete in the present-day global situation. The MCA program focuses on providing a sound theoretical background as well as good practical exposure to students in the relevant areas. It is intended to provide a modern and industry-oriented education in applied computer science. The goal is to produce trained professionals who successfully meet the demands of the information technology industry and be successful in their career as well as life.

Program Educational Objectives:

The objectives are to provide the ideal education and complete professional grooming of the students to meet the challenges and standards of the industry. The department aims at providing the students: –

  • Theoretical knowledge of various subjects like Mathematical Foundation of Computer Science, the Internet and Web Designing, Computer Based Management System and E-commerce, Principles of System Programming and Compiler Design, etc.

  • Knowledge of Programming Languages like C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, VC++ and dot Net, etc.

  • Practical knowledge of Programming Languages.

  • Exposure to various new concepts trending these days like Big Data, Cloud Computing, Digital Marketing, etc. through various workshops and seminars.

  • Hands-on research through two Minor Projects in 4th and 5th Semesters.

  • The 6th semester is devoted to project work to provide valuable experience before stepping into the professional world of information technology.

Public Sector:

MCA students are hired by Government agencies like BHEL, DRDO, ISRO, NTPC, BSNL, MTNL, Assistant Professors in Government colleges, etc.

Private Sector:

MCA students are hired by private companies like Wipro, HCL, TCS, IBM, Accenture, Infosys, Cognizant, American Express, HP, etc.

Eligibility Criteria:

Three-year degree course (TDC) with 45% marks in aggregate with Mathematics at 10+2 level or the Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subject at graduation level or BCA (TDC) with 50% marks in aggregate or any other examination recognized by M.D. University, Rohtak as Bachelor equivalent thereto.

MCA Lateral Entry – Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in BCA, B.Sc. (Information Technology/Computer Science ) or any other examination recognised by M.D. University, Rohtak as equivalent thereto having 50% marks (47.5% for SC/ST candidates of Haryana only) in aggregate with Mathematics as a course at 10+2 level or at Graduate level.
