B.Tech (Information Technology) is the field of Software Applications, Computer Hardware, Design, Development, Implementation, Support and Management of Computer Based Information System. The four-year graduate program with the specialization in information technology deals with creating, controlling, storing the information, communication and circulation of information. The students will be able to move into information processing, data handling and data mining with the analysis of database management systems. The curriculum contains System and Networks Administration, Database Management Systems, Operating Systems, Multimedia, Computer Graphics, Advanced Java and many other subjects of information technology. The department is having qualified and well-experienced faculty, who not only guides students to excel in their subjects with conceptual teaching methodology but also to motivate them to be industry ready in the field of information technology.

Program Educational Objectives / Core Modules:

In order to inculcate the real technical knowledge, the objectives of the information technology department are:

  1. Nurturing the graduates to be professionals in the field of Information Technology for Development, Deployment and System Implementation.
  2. Providing in-depth knowledge on Data Processing, Data Mining, Data Handling, Multimedia and Graphics tools.
  3. Offering knowledge about latest concepts in an industry on Data Analysis like Big data, Cloud Computing and Digital Data Handling and Market concepts by inviting guest lecturers, experts from industry and arranging Industrial Visits.
  4. Training the students to be experts in the field of information technology with Network Technology, Intelligent System, Computer Architecture, Rapid Application Development, etc.

The scope of Employment / Career Avenues:

B.Tech Information Technology is more oriented towards the management of computing technology and information processing.It includes a detailed study of programming and of the computer software. After completing B.Tech in Information Technology, the student learns to develop software which is the basic requirement of various software firms. IT Specialists are required in almost all range of employment fields such as finance, arts, medicine, defense and other areas. Many opportunities are available in various IT firms all over India. It is only IT industry which has made India, an established power all over the world.

Public Sector:

The public sector firms recruit graduate trainees after conducting written test. Some of the leading public sector firms recruiting B.Tech in Information Technology graduates are Banks, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited (HEC), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited(HAL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited(BPCL). Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination from recognizeded Board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of the four subjects:
(i) Chemistry
(ii) Computer Science/Information Science
(iii) Bio-technology
(iv) Biology.
Admission to four-year B.Tech. courses are made on the basis of the merit of AIEEE & should have obtained at least 45% marks in aggregate of 03 subjects including Physics and Mathematics.

B.Tech. (A three-year program through the Lateral Engineering Entry Test)
The candidate must have passed Diploma in Engineering/ Technology course with the minimum duration of three years from Haryana Board of Technical Education or its equivalent with at least 45% in aggregate of all semesters in any branch mentioned in the Admission Brochure issued by HSCS. The candidates who have passed B.Sc with Mathematics securing 45% marks are also eligible. 3. 10th Passing Certificate and Mark sheet
4. 12th Passing Certificate and Mark sheet
For Admission through counselling
5. Copy of Allotment Letter Issued by HSCS
6. Proof of Deposition of Registration Fee (Rs. 500)
7. AIEEE Admit Card and Score Card
8. Proof of Residence in case of reserved category (SC, BC, ESM, GEN, etc.)
9. Students who belong to minority community must mention their category (Muslim, Sikh, Jain, Persian, Christian, Buddhist, etc.)
